For The Empire!

Well it's certainly been quite a challenge, but I've finished the unit of 10 Middenheim Knights, these older sculpts are completely different in style than the newer ones, and definitely more difficult to paint! Anyways, here're the results of my efforts:

Hobby Half Hour progress.

I've been trying to do a 'hobby half hour' every day, (inspired by Dan Heelan of www.heelanhamer.com fame and his '#hobbytime': it's one of the best podcasts out there, check it out!). My HHH is the time when I try and make some progress on my own army, because quite shockingly I don't own a fully painted army, despite the fact that as a pessimistic estimate last year I probably painted well in excess of 7000points of warhammer alone, not including 40k and Warmachine/hordes.

My army of choice is the Ogres, with a list designed to include the lowest model count possible, they're currently under 30! Anyway here's a head of a thundertusk to go with the bulls from the last thread, and also a pic of the force in all of its grey-plastic goodness...

As ever your thoughts are welcome! There'll definitely be some updates soon, as the thundertusk's face is now complete with all of his various boney-bits, and all but complete.

Well I've been neglecting this! Lots of pictures!

Hello and a happy new year to all! Given that it's been 2months+since my last update it's obvious that I've been a bit lax in terms of updating the blog! The reason for this is the amount of other forum specific blogs which I update; I just find it hard to sum up the effort to offer a proper, in-depth block of text.

However that's no excuse! So from now on I'm going to keep the blog slightly more text (but not content) light, I'll sum up what I'm working on or have finished, my thoughts, and provide a couple of pictures, apologies if this first post seems a little brief, but I'll work on the format etc in the future, please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Anyway, even if I've not been busy on blogger I've certainly been busy at the painting desk, here's a million pictures of what I've been working on in the past few months, I'll try and group them by race/game system etc, but there's quite a lot to get in :)

Firstly, I got told recently that it was a shame I didn't keep any of the models I painted for myself, I agree with this, but I couldn't afford to paint all of these beautiful different things if I were keeping them for a private collection (nor would I have space in my room given the amount of monsters I painted last year!).

However I do agree with this, and so here are some pictures of the army I'm doing just for me :)

My Ogres:

Skullvane Manse, this thing is AMAZING! Such fun to paint, not too long spent in assembly, and it looks great on the tabletop! got a mention on GW's Blog: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/blogPost.jsp?aId=19600008a

Terrorgeist: My favourite model on the big base ever, GW featured this on their blog http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/wnt/blog.jsp?pid=800016-gws

New VC figures, apologies for the notations on the hexwraiths, I only had the ebay pictures.

Commission Ogre Army: Gw featured this on their blog also: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/wnt/blog.jsp?pid=800002-gws

Necrons, featured on the GW Blog (I loved using pigments on the warriors!): http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/blogPost.jsp?aId=19800015a

The Necrons from the last post (+ an Ark) were featured on GW's blog also:

New Necrons!
It's been a while since I've last updated, but here's some pictures of the new Necron kits I've been painting; both of these are up on ebay; I'll be posting some more updates soon.

Cheers for looking; Ark is next, and some more Ogres, and some privateer press stuff!

Just a quickie today; finished off the final details on the Ogre unit for a client - really happy with how they've come out, working on 4 leadbelchers next.
